Free Fire India versions and events: OB52–OB55, 2017–2025 milestones
OB52 to OB55 mechanic changes, the 2026 event timeline and 2017–2025 product milestones from global official announcements, keeping announcement dates apart.
People looking up a version usually want one answer: “which version added this feature”. But what an official announcement gives you is the announcement date and the version content it describes, not a launch record for the standalone India version. This page tables OB52–OB55 and the 2026 events readable on the global official site, plus the 2017–2025 product milestones, and marks the date basis of every fact. The global official timeline does not prove that FFI uses the same version — that is the one sentence to keep in mind while reading this page.
What can the global official OB timeline prove?
The official patch index lists OB52 (2026-01-09), OB53 (04-02), OB54 (06-23) and OB55 (09-10). These four dates are announcement publication times and correspond to feature descriptions for the global version.
What it can prove: which changes the official side announced for a given version. What it cannot prove: that the standalone India client launched the same content on the same day, kept the same entry points, or has identical values. The India version is a separate application, and version sync has to be checked separately against India official announcements or the client.
Evidence level: Global reference — All version entries below come from official Free Fire global announcements and cannot be taken directly as India-server facts.
What did OB52–OB55 each change?
| Version | Announcement date | What can be confirmed |
|---|---|---|
| OB52 | 2026-01-09 | Jujutsu Kaisen event, weapon rarity colour breakdown, Armory forced entry, revival and ranked performance mechanics, Neon City |
| OB53 | 2026-04-02 | Undersea Mystery and other themes and gameplay, balance adjustments |
| OB54 | 2026-06-23 | Ninth anniversary missions, weapon awakening, in-place revival, match review, map and creation system changes |
| OB55 | 2026-09-10 | Collaboration return, device categories, projectiles, weapon and character adjustments |
OB52: a few changes that stand alone as entries
This version breaks weapon colours down into white, light gold, gold, light red and red, distinguished by tier such as ground loot, upgraded or airdrop. The Armory can be entered by breaking glass, but that triggers a drone which exposes your position. Neon City is a special area entered through a map rift portal, with stay and combat limits; it belongs to that period’s gameplay and cannot be assumed to be permanent now.
The revival mechanics of the same version (early revival protection in solo, a team revival countdown in squad modes) come with time parameters in the announcement, but those parameters may have changed since, so a guide should state the version rather than stitch values from different updates together. The specific records on economy and revival are in reward economy and draws.
OB54: map material that needs correcting
The patch states outright that Bermuda 2.0 and Alpine were removed from the game. That means old official map pages and maps listed by historical customer service answers cannot be taken directly as the latest map pool, and the name correspondence between Bermuda Remastered and Bermuda 2.0 also has to be checked in the client. The patch also changed interaction and movement on maps, so the purpose of historical landmarks must carry a date. The full version of this correction is in map changes and the OB54 correction, and the map list itself is in map overview and landmarks.
OB54: match review and combat interaction
The announcement adds BR Match Review, which lets you view the route, key events, nearby enemies and hot zones after a relevant ranked or custom Battle Royale match and share it; there are also weapon stat visualisation, assisted self-revive for teammates and status feedback adjustments. The in-place revival and weapon awakening of the ninth anniversary are event mechanics in the announcement and should not be described unconditionally as permanent base rules.
Evidence level: Historical version — The changes above correspond to the version the announcement describes and may have been adjusted by later patches.
The 2026 event timeline
| Event | Official timing | Content summary | Editorial status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lost Treasure | 2026-02-20 to 03-06 | Bermuda desert rework, Sunken Chamber, treasure digging and themed collectibles | Historical archive |
| Free Fire x GINTAMA | 2026-04-24 to 05-23 | Yorozuya buildings and themed outfits, weapon and vehicle collectibles | Historical archive |
| Fire Kickoff | 2026-06-05 to 06-23 | Football pitch, transformation, revival duels and mission rewards | Historical archive |
| Ninth anniversary | 2026-06-24 to 07-26 | Social lobby, skill upgrades, weapon awakening and event rewards | Historical archive |
| NARUTO SHIPPUDEN Chapter 1 return | 2026-09 official announcement | Ninjutsu, themed map interactions and items | End time to be checked separately |
| FFI Diwali campaign | Until 2026-11-15 | The India version release announcement mentions a Diwali themed event | Details and rewards to be verified |
All timings in the table are as the announcements state them; where an announcement gives no time zone, this page does not add a specific hour. The last row is the only event directly tied to the India version: the India release announcement mentions a Diwali themed event running until 15 November, but the participation conditions, the end time zone and the reward list are not given in that announcement.
What did each of the three events change?
Lost Treasure is themed on the mirage oasis and underground spaces, offering a digging mini-game, free stage rewards and separately sold themed collectibles. Free rewards and paid content have to be verified separately; do not lump every outfit shown in an announcement together as obtainable for free. The event’s sky portal and revival pod also cannot be treated as general map facilities for every season.
GINTAMA introduces themed looks and map buildings, plus themed items such as the Winchester, Katana and motorbike. The event has ended, so whether items return and whether they can still be obtained must be checked separately; it cannot be written up as “log in today and claim”.
Fire Kickoff turns the Factory on Bermuda into a football pitch and offers a football one-on-one revival chance after an early elimination, football form and explosive football gameplay, with rewards advancing through stages on the mission screen. It shows that the Factory changes temporarily because of an event, so map guides must check the current appearance. Football gameplay itself did not first appear in 2026: Football Squad and Social Island football existed in 2022, and the difference is covered in special modes archive.
Evidence level: Historical version — The events above have all ended; reward availability cannot be assumed.
Do the anime and lore expansions count as game content?
No. The official announcement of 2026-08-01 gives the anime’s title as Free Fire: Daybreak, planned to air in spring 2027 and to be released globally, produced by Studio CANDYBOX in a collaboration between Garena and KADOKAWA. The story centres on New Dawn, Kelly, Horizon Corporation and Project Bloom, and also shows Hayato and Moco.
This is the anime’s story background, and abilities or ages in the anime should not be copied directly over the game’s character data. The specific Indian platform, language and exact premiere date are not confirmed in that announcement, so this page only writes “planned” and the year and season. For character background and lore material, see character biographies and lore.

| 2025-05-20 | Solara announcement | Says Solara goes live on 21 May and is the first new map in three years |
This table is not a complete patch-by-patch chronology, and it does not mean the features still exist today. The 2017 launch announcement does not prove Bermuda’s first release date, and the 2018 character system announcement does not prove the launch date of every early in-game character; none of these gaps were filled in by guessing.
Why is an announcement date not a live date?
At least four examples in the table show the difference directly: KALAHARI previews “arriving with the patch on 25 February” on 2020-02-19; Alpine is announced on 2021-12-13 with the event opening on 17 December; Solara is announced on 2025-05-20 and goes live on 21 May; the India version is announced on 2026-10-27 and downloadable from 28 October.
So a version entry has to separate at least three fields: the announcement publication time, the effective time stated in the body, and the date you actually verified it. Merge the three into one “launch time” and the argument over “did this feature go live today” will keep coming back.
When you hit a conflict, in what order should you check?
- Whether a map exists: historical lists → latest patch → local client.
- Skill details: the official site may keep an old description, so add “the date of the web description is unknown”, and let the patch take priority over a clearly outdated detail page.
- Events: once the date has passed, mark it historical; reward availability cannot be assumed.
- Future content: mark it “planned”, and leave the platform and exact date blank when no announcement gives them.
This order matches research methodology; conflicts that are already logged and still unresolved are in conflict and gap log.

Not verified:
- The global official OB timeline does not prove that FFI uses the same version; the India version’s actual version number, launch timing and feature differences are all unconfirmed.
- Whether each event exists in the standalone India version and whether rewards can be claimed are unconfirmed.
- There is no readable English official source for the first release date of Booyah Pass, so no launch date is written.
- The anime’s Indian platform, language and exact premiere date are unconfirmed.
- The end time of the NARUTO SHIPPUDEN return needs to be checked separately and is not assumed to be open.
- This page states no price, probability, reward value or event date that a source does not give.
