Free Fire India Official Tips and Video Library: What 18 Items Prove

Evidence table for 18 official text and video descriptions: what each can and cannot confirm, which topics can become tutorials, and why no footage was watched.

10/28/2026 FFI Research Team Last verified: 10/28/2026 11 min read

This page is not a guide but a set of criteria for what these official materials can support when writing one. The research draft collected 18 items: 15 pieces of official text and the titles and descriptions of 3 videos from official channels, verified on 2026-10-28. Every item states what it can and cannot confirm; the three videos were not watched, so this page does not restate any step-by-step actions.

How was this library assembled?

The selection standard was “first-party and openable”: articles and patch notes on the Garena global English site, the pro column on Garena Indonesia, Google Play’s official editorial guide, and videos published by the Free Fire India Official and Garena Free Fire Global channels. Every text item had its relevant paragraphs actually read; for videos only the title, publisher and description were recorded. Any material belonging to the global version cannot be treated directly as a fact about the Indian server.

The 18-item evidence table

Source Topic What it can confirm What it cannot confirm
BR Economy Adjustments (2023-10-28) Battle Royale (BR) in-match economy and vending machines Garena once designed vending machines at fixed points, currency from in-team interaction, currency for eliminations, currency lost when eliminated, and partial retention after Revival Cannot be used as current economy values; later rules need newer announcements
Patch Notes: BR Economy Adjustment (2023-10-30) The same design implemented as patch rules Vending machines spawn at fixed points and are marked on the minimap, each team can claim one, and enemy teams may still use them again Two days apart from the entry above, so it does not count as independent evidence
Dev Blog: Map Adjustments (2023-08-01) How map reworks are evaluated Garena looked at BR loot and rotation routes plus CS balance for both sides, and explained the reasons for the Hangar, Factory and Peak changes Old map-rework descriptions cannot be taken as the current map state
Booyah Day patch (2022-09-21) Clash Squad (CS) weapon upgrades and teammate skill display At that time the CS shop added upgradeable guns; the lobby, Battle Card and scoreboard showed teammates’ skill combinations The gun list and that year’s shop rules are already outdated
Pro Tips Santino (2023-02-06, Indonesian) A pro player’s advice on an older character set A named pro places Santino in a current suppression role, suggests placing decoys before pushing and teleporting back after a fight, and gives examples of teammate skill combinations It is a player’s opinion, not an official optimal lineup and not a current strength conclusion
BALANCING FREE FIRE (2020-04-02) Design goals of weapon balancing The goal was to stop players chasing a single “correct gun”; different fight situations need different answers It is not a current ranking of any gun
Dev Blog: Characters, Pets, Skill Slots (2019-10-31) Design goals of skill combinations The goal was for players to build combinations around their own playstyle, and upgrade costs were already a concern at the time Only proves early design; paid slots and skill upgrades have since been changed
Patch Notes: tutorial videos on map detail pages (2023-10-30) In-game tutorial entry per map A map detail page can play a tutorial video for that custom map, which Garena says lets players preview the gameplay and plan tactics in advance No specific map video content is cited
OB53: Quick Messages (2026-04-02) Pings and landing coordination features Quick regroup, automatic marking when hit or attacked by a nearby enemy, a notification when an Armory/airdrop/revival point is taken, a reminder when landing without picking up a primary weapon, and distance shown on markers Whether these features launched on the Indian server needs in-game confirmation
OB54: BR zone loot-tier display (2026-06-23) Landing decisions during the drop phase Under the main area names, colors are shown by loot tier (red, gold, purple) Does not state Indian-version sync or later retention; the colour thresholds are unpublished
OB54: anniversary missions (2026-06-23) Timed missions and rewards During the event, missions spawn randomly in zones and can be taken at vending machines or mission points, and missions and rewards fall into several categories It is a limited-time event and must not be written as a permanent landing mechanic
OB55: BR landing, airdrops and markers (2026-09-10) Drop-point and airdrop adjustments The cabin phase shows revival points and vending machines; high-value loot and extraction UI; marker voice lines change with distance; airdrop count, timing and indicators were adjusted It is a fact of that update, and some details will change again
OB55: CS weapon category roles (2026-09-10) Design intent behind weapon categories SMG for close-range mobility, Shotgun for close-range burst, Rifle for balanced mid-to-long range, Marksman Rifle for high-accuracy mid-to-long range with Armour Penetration, Sniper for high damage and picking opportunities It is adjustment intent, not independent testing or a permanent law
OB55: CS projectiles (2026-09-10) Flame, sonar and smoke grenades Flame and sonar grenades were added and smoke was adjusted; the sonar scan briefly reveals enemy positions; flame creates a burning area that can melt Gloo Wall; teammates are also affected by flame The description applies only to the OB55 announcement, not a permanent mechanic
Google Play: Bermuda map guide (no date shown) Landing heat and opening risk Lists Peak, Mill and Factory as high-conflict and high-loot; Graveyard, Rim Nam Village and Riverside as relatively quiet; warns that edge landings may be far from the first zone Place names and loot impressions may be outdated and cannot serve as a current heat map
Video: 3 Easy Tips to Get Started (2020-06-22) Getting started (description only) The description says it covers custom control layout and HUD, practice in training mode, the Safe Zone and Gloo Wall Footage not watched, actions not restated; the version is fairly old
Video: New Map NeXTerra Overview (2022-08-20) Map overview (description only) The description mentions features such as low-gravity areas and a glass museum, and invites viewers to explore the areas No routes, tricks or pros and cons are inferred from the description; current availability is unverified
Video: Free Fire - Battlegrounds (2018-12-10) Historical gameplay overview (description only) The description says players drop onto an island, freely choose a starting position, collect weapons and loot, and the battlefield shrinks over time Player counts, modes and current rules cannot be inferred from it

Which confirmed topics can become tutorials?

  • BR drop points: use the flight path, the resource tiers shown on the map, whether the squad has regrouped, and the reminder about the first primary weapon on landing as decision inputs, based on the OB54 and OB53 feature notes for those updates. Do not treat the landing heat in the old Google guide as a current heat map.
  • CS opening communication: you can explain that the lobby and scoreboard show teammates’ skill combinations (an old 2022 patch), then verify the current interface; any lineup example must be labeled as a pro’s view or your own tested setup.
  • CS economy and weapon upgrades: split it into three parts — historical mechanic, verification of the current shop, and a record of purchases per round. Old prices, old maps and old gear cannot be reused across versions.
  • Map spots and pings: official material only supports map names, rework reasons, automatic marker distance and teammate notifications; no official general ping vocabulary was found, so any word list has to be built from your own client screenshots.
  • Weapon advice: explain engagement distance and purpose from the official category design intent, then compare with current-version stats; do not use an old video or a single match result to claim the “strongest gun”.

The combat order already written from these topics is in BR and CS tactics basics, and weapon category usage is in Range roles, recoil and attachments.

Why do the three videos only get a topic?

The three video records contain only titles, publishers and descriptions, with no footage. This boundary is deliberate: a description can prove that “Garena published a video at some point with these topics as its selling point”, but not which specific actions the video showed. Expanding a title into tips is the most common source of distortion in secondhand guides. The three videos were published in 2018, 2020 and 2022 respectively, and the interfaces and advice in them cannot be treated directly as current Indian-server practice.

Three rules for writing pages from this library

  1. A title and description are not the content: write only the topics the description explicitly lists, and do not add step-by-step actions.
  2. A patch date is not a current rule: write every patch fact together with its date and “global version”, and mark it Historical version or Global reference.
  3. Old values are not reused across versions: old prices, old maps, old gear and old economy values cannot be spliced into current guides; without official support, do not write “strongest” or “standard”.

These three rules match the site’s overall grading approach; the method is described in Research methodology and evidence levels and the source list is in Source index.

Evidence boundaries

  • All Garena site entries are global English material (1 of them in Indonesian) and cannot prove parity with the Indian client, especially for versions, balance values and limited-time events.
  • No video footage was watched; only public titles, channel publishers and descriptions were used, and no unwritten tips are inferred from descriptions.
  • This is a supplementary topic: the character, weapon and map catalogs reuse existing files and are not rebuilt here.
  • No material was found that could prove “official general ping vocabulary”, a “fixed best purchase table per round”, or a “current landing heat map”.

Evidence level: Global reference — Apart from the noted exceptions, all 18 items are global-version official content; Indian-server sync is unverified.

Evidence level: Historical version — The patches and videos from 2018 to 2023 correspond only to their own points in time and cannot be assembled into current rules.

Evidence level: Unverified — Whether the features mentioned in the table (automatic marking, distance display, landing reminders, zone tier colors) exist in the Indian-server client needs in-game confirmation.

Sources and limitations

Official text sources:

Official videos (titles and descriptions only):

Still unverified:

  • Whether the Indian client has synced the features and values of these patches: unverified; this page records only what the global announcements say.
  • The footage of the three videos: only titles and descriptions were read, no viewing, so no actions are restated.
  • The Google Play guide marked “no date shown” in the table: the page gives no publication date, so its freshness cannot be judged.
  • Official general ping vocabulary, a fixed best purchase table per round, and a current landing heat map: no citable official material was found.
  • The character advice in the Indonesian pro column: it is a named pro’s older opinion, not a current strength conclusion.

Evidence level: Unverified — The status of the features and interfaces in the table on the Indian-server client still needs testing; the method is in Research methodology and evidence levels, and recorded conflicts are in Conflicts and gaps.
